Meet your Race Marshall:
Jim Cunningham
I enjoy what I do in sled dog sports. I get to meet people from all over the world, I get to see some incredible canine athletes, but most of all I get to introduce people to sled dog racing and explain to them the incredible bond between the musher and his/her team.
Meet your Race Timers:
Marcel Garneau and Lesley Morrison
What is a Race Timer?
Dog sled races are run with a staggered start. That is, the teams go out at intervals to avoid chaos at the start line. So the run is timed. The team that clocks the fastest time wins! Race timers perform an essential job in any race. They need to be precise, accurate and reliable.
They also need help! Volunteers are needed to call teams to the start line, catch and help move teams off when they come in, post times as they are announced, keep a steady stream of coffee and/or hot chocolate coming to trail volunteers (Oh 0 wish!)
Want to help? Being a volunteer is the best way to get the inside track on all that happens on the trail and off!
