Volunteering to help out before the race, undertaking administrative and other preparatory tasks.  Volunteering on race day offers an insider’s look at what dog sledding is really all about, from the excitement at the start line to the inspiring finishes as the dogs come in and every mile in between.  As a volunteer on race day, you could be assisting the Race Marshall at the start line, the Official Timers at the finish, helping at road crossings and other challenging places on the trail.   You might be helping mushers and observers park in appropriate zones, making sure the right teams are in the right place as their start time comes up and generally being available everywhere a pair of hands might be useful. Prior to the race you could join the Trail building team,  and then join the Trail Crew again on race day.
